Five Smooth Stones of Prayer (1 Samuel 17:40-50)
“That all the earth may know that there is a God in Isreal”
We can use David’s five smooth stones as a metaphor for Five Components of Prayer:
1) Thanksgiving – Psalm 95:2
2) Praise – Psalm 54:6
3) Repentance – 1 John 1:8-9
4) Personal Petition – for you and yours! Philippians 4:6
5) Intercession for others – James 5:16
As David intentionally chose his five stones, we should intentionally include these five components in our communion with our Heavenly Father
