Have You Had Enough Yet? Do You Need REST from the cares of this World? (Joshua 21:43-46)
Thankfully God’s word gives us direction in navigating the challenges we face.
This passage in the Book of Joshua highlight’s the glaring distinction between the dishonesty we know so well in this world and the pure truth of God’s Word.
As our Lord walked the earth among men He taught us how to deal with life: (Matthew 11:28-30)
1) He gives us a wonderful invitation!
“COME TO ME!”
2) He gives us a wonderful promise!
“I WILL GIVE YOU REST!”
Christ has made a promise to you: if you come to Him, if you look to Him for salvation from the enemies of your soul, you will find rest.
3) He gives us a wonderful challenge!
“TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU AND LEARN FROM ME, FOR I AM GENTLE AND LOWLY IN HEART, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.”
“Learn from Me!”
(Hebrews 3:12; 4:14-16)
This passage in Hebrews is for US! …for each of us who call Jesus our Savior and our Lord.
The foundation of our salvation rests completely in:
– Who Jesus Christ is
– What he has done
– What He is doing
– What He will do FOR us.
Well, as His child, we can come boldly to the throne of grace – the only place of rest for our souls – and obtain God’s mercy and find the power to overcome in the face of our struggles and our cares.
(Matthew 11:28-30)
