Pastor and Mona Griffith

Pastor Phil Griffith was born in Marion, Ohio.  He is the youngest of five children, whom his mother solely reared through faithful prayer and dedication.  Phil was saved when he was in his teens and surrendered his life to full time ministry during high school.  Upon graduation of high school in 1972, he enrolled in Baptist Bible College.

It wasn’t until May of 1974 during Fellowship Week that he met his future bride, Ramona Hackler.  They dated for a year and were married on August 2nd, 1975.  Phil graduated in May of 1977 with a B.A. in Pastoral Theology.  Mona also graduated in May of 1977 with a Missions Degree.  Upon graduation, they moved to Centerville, Iowa and took a position as a Youth Pastor with Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church.  He faithfully served in this capacity for 8 1/2 years before coming to Ottumwa, Iowa, in August of 1985 to serve as Pastor of Faith Baptist Church.

Pastor Phil enjoys sports of all kinds, especially basketball.  He and his wife, Mona, live in Ottumwa and have two girls, Aimee and Apryle.
