How Real is Your Religion?

26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. – James 1:26-27

Real religion brings liberty, false religion brings _______

Real religion gives life, false religion gives ______

Real religion glorifies God, false religion ______ man

Real religion warms the soul, false religion ______ the heart

The word “religion” literally means “the outward appearance of a religious ritual.”

**Real religion gives you a heart for the things that God has a heart for.  The Bible says in Psalms 68:5, “A father of the fatherless, defender of widows, is God in His Holy habitation.”

Consecrated Conduct

**Real religion motivates us “to keep one’s self unspotted from the world.”
