When Life Doesn’t Make Sense!

When Life Doesn’t Make Sense!

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Where were you when JFK, Challenger, Oklahoma Bombing, 9/11, and now the Boston Maraton Bombing happened?  We will remember what we were doing and where we were at when these things happened.  It’s normal for events like these brings up a lot of questions; today we’ll try to answer some of these.

The big question is, “Why would God allow this? Can’t He stop evil?”

“If God exists, then evil shouldn’t”

What is Evil?

It’s that what is against God

Anything morally bad or wrong

If we want God to stop evil do we want Him to stop all evil or just some it?

Let’s suppose someone was about to commit murder

God would have to stop it

What if somebody wanted to steal something

God would have to stop it

What about lying

God would have to stop it

Let’s take it a step further

What if someone thought something evil?

God would have to stop it

The end result would be that God could not allow people to think freely

This is a sin cursed world, and we are the ones who cursed it. Bad things will happen.

What kind of prayers would we need to prayer to God

A prayer of a broken heart

A prayer of contrition

Where are you now

Far from God?

Have you talked with Him?

Afraid of life?

Life has no exciting conclusion

Trusting God?

Action Steps

Get right with God

For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation – 2 Corinthians 6:2

Tell others about Jesus

Tell them evil is around us and evil will happen

Help them be ready to meet God

Wake up Believers

Just because we don’t talk about bad things doesn’t mean they’re not happening

We need to get right with Jesus and talk with Him
