Ecc. 2:24, 3:13, 5:18-19
There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God
And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God
18 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.ss19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
Usually when we think of ‘taking advantage’ of someone it’s a bad thing, but not necessarily with the Lord. God gives us many advantages, if only we’ll take them, and remember, anything good in out lives comes from God.
Why not take advantage?
Why not take advantage of the promises of God?
God has given us lots of things to enjoy, but this comes with a requirement – to take advantage of them
He gives us a dwelling place in Heaven
He gives us an endless supply of what we need
He gives us a second chance
Why don’t we take advantage of the privilege of prayer?
If you were carrying a heavy bag of cement and someone asked to carry it for you, would you still carry it?
Jesus said to cast our burdens on Him
He will carry our heavy load
If being filled with the Spirit of God was as simple as flipping a switch, would you do it?
We can ask God for confort and courage
We can ask for guidance
If someone developed a recipe that could give you everything you every needed, would you write it down?
God says that if you delight in Him, He will give you your heart’s desires
What if you could be made smarter and wiser than you know you really are?
We can ask God for wisdom for He gives it liberally
What if there were someone you could give money to and when you gave them money, then gave you more back?
Give and it shall be given unto you
The same way you give, it will be given back
That should not be the motive for giving though
It should be given in abundance out of appreciation for all He has given us
What if you could get a warranty that would allow you to live longer?
God says He will prolong the days of the good
He will shorten the days of the wicked
Why don’t we take advantage of what God offers us?
Do we not want it?
Do we not care for it?
What shall we say?
Should we continue in sin to get more Grace?
We take advantage of His Grace by
Acting as if we have permission to Sin
Don’t let Satan take advantage of you!
God wants us to take advantage of all the good things He offers to us. Jesus took our sins as though He committed them, so we might be advantaged. Can we choose to live a life of sin and crucify Him afresh? Shall we take advantage of Him in this way?
Even when Christ ascended, leaving us here, He left us the advantage of the Holy Spirit, and He formed the church for our benefit. You should take advantage of what your church has to offer!
