No “I Hope I’m Saved” with God

No “I Hope I’m Saved” With God

1 John 5:11-13

You do not have to settle for a “hope so” salvation or a “maybe so” Christianity

Having doubt does not mean that you are not saved

Assurance is essential to a healthy Christian life

1. The “How To” of Salvation

Belief in the person of Jesus Christ. That He is the Son of God – John 1:11

Salvation comes, not by your actions, but on the basis of your faith in Christ’s actions

2. The Assurance of Salvation

The Lordship test, making Christ the Lord of our life and a desire to stay on Christ’s course and correct the course when we stray – 1 John 2:3-4

The Fellowship test, having love for our fellow believers and want them to succeed as believers – 1 John 3:14

The Relationship test, having a viable relationship with Jesus Christ – 1 John 5:11-13
